ABOUT ME
Since 5 years of age, Taylah has always been involved with the creative arts, with her first ever role being the title character of 'Peter Pan' in her first ever primary school musical. From then on, Taylah has always known, even if it is a clichè, that she wants to perform.
Her training and experience has well-developed from those days, picking up dance lessons in Kindergarten, and training in various styles, including jazz, hip hop, tap and acrobatics. Starting at a local dance company and then proceeding to do various work shops, to training at 'Dance Force', dancing is now always part of Taylah's life.
Throughout high school, Taylah continued to study music, dance and drama, whilst proceeding to be involved with as many creative projects outside of school as possible. For a couple years, she teamed up with a school peer and created an acoustic duo, where she sang as the lead vocalist and they performed regular gigs in the community. But her true passion has always remained with musical theatre. During her high school years (2010 - 2015) she was involved in Tweed Theatre Company's musical 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and the Black Forest' where, after playing Peter Pan many years ago, she yet again played a male, but this time with a beard. After a couple more productions she proceeded to scoring her first leading role in Tweed Theatre's original musicale 'Songs of Broadway', where she was given the delighted honour of singing 'Defying Gravity' from Wicked and 'Not Gettin' Married Today' from Company, challenging her greatly but re-igniting her passion for this industry.

To further her involvement in musical theatre, in the past two years Taylah has been involved in various workshops and programs to integrate and consistently immerse herself within the industry. In 2016, Taylah was involved in 'The Performer's Studio' on the Gold Coast, which is a pre-professional program run by Matt Ward. From here she got to study various parts of performance, including song-writing, screen-acting, dance and music theatre, with industry professionals.
Now, in 2017, Taylah is studying a certificate IV in music theatre at the 'Brisbane Academy of Musical Theatre' (BAMT) in Stafford, Brisbane. In association with professional theatre company 'Harvest Rain', Taylah is lucky enough to train with industry professionals every day, including individuals such as Dennett Hudson, Laine Loxlea-Dannan, Lauren Mckenna and special guests including Seth Stewart ('Hamilton' & 'In The Heights') and Sharona D'Ornellas (Appeared on 'Smash'). Run by Grant Couchman and Tim O'Connor, the course spans over a year and involves a variety of subjects, including jazz, ballet, acting, audition prep, music theory etc.
Taylah has also recently premiered her first ever solo creation, presenting her own 10 minute cabaret to a live audience. Based on leaving an assessment to the last minute, this relatable piece of comedic theatre included dancing with coffee cups and a truthful step-by-step guide to how we all put off what we need to do. Taylah absolutely loved the experience of performing her own work and hopes to be able to share this particular piece of theatre again soon at other events.
